Letitia B. Wiggins

Letitia B. Wiggins was born and raised in McLeansboro, Illinois. After attending Hamilton County Senior High she attended the University of Southern Indiana where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2010. While at USI she majored in Health Services with Minors in Political Science and Public Health. She went on to attend St. Louis University School of Law, graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 2013 with a concentration in Health Care Law. During law school she spent time as a Rule 711 intern in Hamilton County State’s Attorney’s office and St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Once licensed, she worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in St. Clair County. While there she worked in the Traffic and Misdemeanor Unit and in the Children’s Justice Unit handling Juvenile Abuse and Neglect and Juvenile delinquency cases. She joined the Saline County State’s Attorney’s office in November 2014, where she prosecuted Traffic, Misdemeanor, Juvenile Abuse and Neglect, Juvenile Delinquency, and Felony cases. In addition to her courtroom duties, Letitia focused on tackling the issue of increased delinquency in Saline County. She transitioned to private practice in the fall of 2016 when she joined Jelliffe, Doerge & Phelps. While there she handled family law matters with a focus on cases where parenting time is at issue. The culmination of her experiences, both personal and professional, have led her to this area of law.

In 2017, she was selected for Southern Illinoisan’s “Top 20 under 40.” In 2018, she was approved to be a Guardian Ad Litem, which allows her to represent children in contested Family Law cases. She now focuses on Family Law and General Practice Law.
